The Women of Influence in Local Government Award celebrates women who have made significant contributions to the field, whether on the administrative or political side of life.

The deadline to submit your nominations is JUNE 3, 2022.

ARCTIC INSPIRATION PRIZE

YOUTH PROGRAMS
CLIMATE CHANGE
TUNDRA SCIENCE AND CULTURE CAMP

The TSCC is an immersive, 10-day educational program for NWT high-school-aged students ages 14-17, and educators, offered by the GNWT. The program is delivered by educators and leaders in Indigenous Culture and Environmental Science who collaborate to provide a fun and rewarding on-the-tundra multidisciplinary learning experience.

Camp runs from July 26 - August 4

2SLGBTQIPA+ 
QMUNITY Camp NWT

7 days of art, expression, connection and empowerment. Applications are open to youth aged 12-17 living in the NWT who self-identify as gender and/or sexually diverse, are questioning their identities, or are allied to the 2SLGBTQIPA+ community.

Deadline to apply - June 13, 2022

Camp runs from August 20 - 26

ECONOMIC SUPPORT
NGO STABILIZATION FUND

The NGO Stabilization Fund is an application based contribution program that provides short term support to NGOs who deliver critical GNWT funded programs and services to NWT residents. Collaborative projects that build the capacity of more than one NGO are encouraged.

Funding up to $50,000 is available.

GHOST GEAR FUND

The Ghost Gear Fund supports a range of activities to support the improvement of fisheries management and sustainability and the prevention and mitigation of marine litter.

Typical contributions can be expected in the range of $50,000 to $1 million.

FOOD SECURITY
LOCAL FOOD INFRASTRUCTURE FUND

Eligible projects must create 2 or more new food system components with the goal to create, expand and/or complete your community's food system.

Funding between $100,000 to $500,000

WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP
CANADIAN WOMEN IN LOCAL LEADERSHIP (CanWILL)

The second round of applications has opened for projects that support women's participation in local leadership. Small and rural communities are encouraged to apply.

Funding up to $10,000 is available.

HOUSING
NORTHERN ACCESS ROUND: SUPPLY CHAIN SOLUTIONS FOR NORTHERN AND REMOTE HOUSING

The Northern Access Round seeks solutions that reduce the time, cost, and risk to access resources for building and maintaining appropriate northern and remote housing supply.

Successful applicants will share a pool of up to $80 million.

DISASTER RESPONSE
DISASTER FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE - FLOOD RECOVERY

Financial support is available to residents, small businesses, non-profit organizations, and local authorities (community governments). Applicants can apply for disaster financial assistance if the Disaster Assistance Policy has been implemented, insurance coverage was not available, or the cost exceeded what insurance covers.

FCM FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
GRANTS AND LOANS

FCM offers grants for municipal environmental projects. Loans are also available to municipalities at competitive rates, and most recipients receive an additional grant of up to 15 percent of their loan amount. Municipal partners may apply for competitive, long-term financing.

ADDICTIONS RESPONSE
ADDICTIONS RECOVERY AND AFTERCARE FUND

This program provides funding to hire community-based counsellors who will support individuals living in, or working towards, recovery and/or support community-based addictions recovery and aftercare programming in the Northwest Territories (NWT).

A maximum of $750,000 is available each year under the program.

Deadline for Applications
March 31-September 1: Indigenous governments.
September 2-March 31: Community governing authorities and non-government organizations
