SUBMIT NEW RESOLUTIONS FOR THE AGM

Remember: The deadline to submit new resolutions has been extended. Add AGM Resolutions to your next Council Agenda to discuss your resolutions and AGM registration.

The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. on May 6, 2022.

COVID UPDATE
CURRENT PUBLIC HEALTH ORDERS

New travel requirements are in place effective March 1, 2022. The remaining orders are in place for the duration of the public health emergency, unless otherwise rescinded or revised.

The Northern Access Round seeks solutions that reduce the time, cost, and risk to access resources for building and maintaining appropriate northern and remote housing supply.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GRANT

The Operational stream assists organizations with operational and administrative costs, while the Programming stream helps organizations develop or sustain sports and recreational programming for kids aged 4-18 in financial need and youth with disabilities between the ages of 4-25.

HEALTHY CHOICES FUND

The Healthy Choices Fund provides $10,000 - $75,000 to help eligible organizations and community governments maximize the impact of health promotion and prevention activities that support NWT communities and their residents in making positive lifestyle choices..

LOW CARBON ECONOMY CHALLENGE

To be considered eligible, a project must result in reductions in GHG emissions in 2030 and over the lifetime of the project..

ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION FUND

The Active Transportation Fund will invest in projects that build new and expanded networks of pathways, bike lanes, trails and pedestrian bridges, in addition to supporting active transportation planning and stakeholder engagement activities.

CANADA ARTS PRESENTATION FUND

This funding supports existing professional arts festivals and performing arts series presenters to offer activities that connect artists with Canadians in their communities.

WASTE REDUCTION AND RECYCLING INITIATIVE

This program provides up to $50,000 in financial assistance to complete projects that reduce waste generation, reuse materials and products, recycle materials (that are not already collected through an NWT recycling program) and recover a useful benefit from waste.

NWT OMBUD
OMBUD ACT

Section 16 of the Ombud Act creates a new option for municipal and indigenous governments to refer administrative matters to the Office of the Ombud for investigation.
