The Rise on Boards program is open to young women and gender-marginalized youth in Canada between the ages of 18-29. Participants gain access to an incredible, experiential leadership opportunity through a one-year placement on a non-profit board, a comprehensive training program that covers board essentials, leadership skills, DEI, and more, and access to 1-1 mentorship opportunities. Applications are open till April 10th 2025, 23:59 pm (ET).
The Rise on Boards+ program expands accessibility through a flexible, self-guided model, offering training modules, workshops, and resources that participants can engage with at their own pace. The program equips participants with the skills and tools to identify and pursue non-profit board opportunities while balancing other commitments. By fostering a supportive environment through group coaching and peer networking, RB+ empowers gender-marginalized youth to develop leadership potential and contribute to transformative change in decision-making spaces across Canada. Applications are open till April 10th 2025, 23:59 pm (ET).
Who is eligible to apply?
Applications are open to individuals who:
· Reside in Canada for the duration of the program (June 2025 till October 2025)
· Identify as young women or gender-marginalized youth
· Are between the ages of 18-29 during the duration of the program
The program is open to any community leader – no college/university experience is required. We invite participants to apply from underrepresented communities, in particular those who identify as Black, Indigenous and/or person of colour and/or participants from the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

The GNWT is seeking expressions of interest from members of the public in NWT who wish to be considered for appointment to the Boards of Directors of Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC) and NT Hydro. This is an initial step to renew and strengthen the governance of NTPC and NT Hydro.

CAPITAL PROJECT APPLICATIONS
The Active Transportation Fund supports the development and enhancement of active transportation networks to provide Canadians with the opportunity to safely and affordably reach destinations by active modes of transportation. Eligible projects include the construction or improvement of sidewalks, multi-use paths, and bike lanes. A minimum of 10% of the funding will be allocated to projects benefiting Indigenous communities.
Applications for capital projects will be accepted through HICC’s Funding Portal until February 26, 2025, while applications from eligible Indigenous applicants will continue to be accepted until April 9, 2025.
