The OCE information package includes the following :

The NTHSSA assures that the OCE link is always prominently featured on their public website, making it easy for online residents to find program information. They also actively promote the OCE through various channels, including traditional media (radio and TV) and digital platforms, aiming for widespread awareness. Their on-the-ground efforts involve staff visits to businesses and GNWT offices, distributing posters, pamphlets, and business cards. Additionally, we regularly give virtual and in-person presentations to Regional Wellness Councils, the Leadership Council, and other interested organizations.

The Cultural Safety Design Collaborative has been actively engaging with the community to understand how clients experience travel for care to Stanton Territorial Hospital. These efforts have successfully increased awareness of the team and its services. During these engagements, the OCE team has visited:

  • Fort Resolution: Elder’s Facility
  • Fort Simpson: Health Centre, Elder’s Facility, Métis Association, Band Office
  • Fort Smith: Smith Landing First Nation, Rolling Rapids Hall, Health Centre, Northern Lights Special Care Home, Aurora College
  • Yellowknife: Stanton Territorial Hospital
  • Bechoko: Events were not held, but met with folks 1-1
  • Outstanding - Hay River & KFN, Inuvik

The NTHSSA is actively seeking ways to connect with the media and the public to promote the program and recently marked the one-year anniversary of operations and introduced a series of team profiles. This initiative aims to familiarize the public with the team members, providing clear contact points and information about the services offered by the OCE.
