RISK-BASED PLANNING - REQUIREMENTS AND GUIDANCE



The document CAN/BNQ 9701-500 Risk-Based Approach for Community Planning in Northern Regions - Requirements and Guidance is now published and available. This has been described as the Hazard Mapping Standard in the past, but its new title is a much more accurate descriptor.

On January 13, the NWTAC Board met with Members of the Legislative Assembly to discuss critical issues for NWT communities. With nine months left in this Legislative Assembly's term, we discussed the GNWT Budget Main Estimates, closing the Community Funding Gap, addressing the Carbon Tax Credit, and Legislative Priorities.

FACILITATING CAMPAIGN SCHOOL FOR WOMEN


The GNWT is seeking women interested in developing their facilitation skills to host and deliver future Campaign School for Women sessions.


This facilitation workshop, scheduled for February 28 to March 2, 2023,

will include instructional development, discussions, small group work,

practice, and feedback to help you develop effective facilitation skills.

For full and part-time studies in college, university, skilled trades, apprenticeships, and technology programs.


There is one application for most of Indspire’s bursaries, scholarships, and awards, with a few exceptions. You only need to complete the application once to be considered for all applicable bursaries, scholarships, and awards. September 2022 to August 2023 academic year.

YOUNG WORKERS PROGRAM

YOUNG WORKER CERTIFICATE COURSE


Launching in 2022, the Youth Safety Leadership Program connects northern youth with opportunities to become community leaders in health and safety. The program is open to young workers (ages 14 to 24) who reside in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories. 


This two-hour interactive e-course is designed to prepare young workers with a general understanding of workplace safety and their rights and responsibilities as workers.

INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY SUPPORT FUND


This fund provides Indigenous leadership and organizations with the flexibility needed to design and implement community-based solutions to prevent, prepare and respond to the spread of COVID-19 within their communities.
