2022 ACCESSIBILITY AWARDS
This award is presented to a business in recognition of new or existing physical and/or non-physical accommodations that increase accessibility to services for the public. Community projects or services that promote accessibility and inclusion of persons with disabilities are also considered for the award.

NWT MINISTERIAL LITERACY AWARDS
The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) and the NWT Literacy Council are extending the nomination deadline for the annual NWT Ministerial Literacy Awards to November 30, 2022.

GHG GRANT PROGRAM FOR GOVERNMENT
An application based non-repayable grant program designed to support greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction projects and initiatives for NWT community governments, municipalities, GNWT departments, and Indigenous governments (which includes band or tribal councils, land-claim organizations, development corporations and self-governments.

2022 SMALL PROJECTS COMPONENT
The Department will prioritize funding to projects that help improve accessibility and safety for persons with disabilities in:
- shelters, for those experiencing violence and/or gender-based violence
- workplaces where persons with disabilities work/could work in the future
- Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) centres
- Indigenous projects to improve accessibility in Indigenous organizations.

TRANSFORMATIVE ACTION IN THE WASTE SECTOR
The CCAC Engagement Strategy for the Waste Sector aims to reduce methane emissions to a level consistent with a 1.5°C pathway by 2030 and to eliminate the open burning of waste, at the household and municipal scale. This call for proposals is seeking projects that help drive transformative action in the sector and support achievement of the CCAC’s goals.

ADDICTIONS RECOVERY AND AFTERCARE FUND
This program provides funding to hire community-based counsellors who will support individuals living in, or working towards, recovery and/or support community-based addictions recovery and aftercare programming in the Northwest Territories (NWT).
A maximum of $750,000 is available each year under the program.

PROVIDE YOUR INPUT
The GNWT is developing a Regional Economic Development Plan (REDP) for each administrative region in the NWT.
The REDPs will identify opportunities to grow existing businesses or start new businesses, to help increase economic diversification by supporting growth in the non-extractive sectors of the economy and will support the efforts made by the GNWT to ensure that the economy of the NWT recovers and emerges stronger from the challenges it has faced over recent years. More information on this initiative can be found here, including a Discussion Paper that provides background information.
