As we continue in this transition time we are beginning our Stewardship Season. As you know our theme this year is "IMAGINE St. Benedict's" as we look forward to 2021. 2020 has provided us the time for reflection and for imagining what St. B's can become in the coming year.
If you have not received a letter with a gift from the Stewardship Committee, please email Monty at monty@mysaintb.org and we will send you one.
As we transition this fall from VOTE EARLY we want to encourage all of you to PLEDGE EARLY. We will be updating the parish each week on the pledges received. Please make sure to get yours in so it can be counted. You may mail the pledge card to church or pledge online at mysaintb.org/giving.

Sundays 9:30 a.m.
This Sunday in our Adult Formation group we‘ll start an occasional series of discussions about Bishop Rob Wright’s “For Faith” devotional. We’ll read his commentary and the related Biblical passage together, and then have an open discussion. “For Faith” is published every Friday and included in our Saturday worship email, and it comes packed with thoughtful and sometimes challenging ideas that relate to our 21st century lives.
A Zoom link will be in the Saturday email.

Prayers in the Nave
St. Benedict's Nave is open for prayers Saturdays from 10-12 and Sundays from 3-5, in 15 minute increments. Please book your reservation by 3:00 pm on Fridays. Being in our beautiful Nave can be a comfort and joy for you and your family, and reconnect you with our wonderful parish family.
A reservation in advance is required. For safety's sake, there will be only one household per reserved time and you must wear a mask. Our Regathering Task Force has developed specific requirements to keep everyone safe. You must bring your own Book of Common Prayer or find it online here.

Virtual "Passing the Peace"
Take a selfie of you and your family in your pandemic "church clothes". Who has the cutest PJs or best socks or the best coffee mug or wine glass? Take a picture and send it to Monty at monty@mysaintb.org. We will share the Peace and see St. Benedict's friends in a slideshow sponsored by the Stewardship Committee. Stewardship season is upon us and we want to begin connecting with each other virtually.

Advent Wreath Making 11/29/2020
Take a calming breath before the madness of holiday preparations really begins! Build and decorate your own Advent wreath to celebrate the season. You may order your wreath kit to be delivered on 11/29/20. We will include all supplies, including various greenery and assorted other festive decorations. An Illustrated Advent for Families will also be included. There will be no charge for wreaths this year!
We will do an online meetup with videos on how to decorate the wreaths! Make some hot cocoa or tea and join us for a festive event together/apart.
More About the Advent Wreath:
The four candles of the Advent wreath marks the passage of time through the four weeks leading up to Christmas. Three of the candles are purple, a liturgical color signifying prayer, expectation, and sacrifice. The third candle is pink and symbolizes joy. The wreath as a whole is meant to remind us of God’s infinite love and the promise of everlasting life which comes to us through Jesus Christ.

St. Benedict's Finances
Although we have not been gathering in the church, we continue to rely on your generous giving to support our wonderful staff, our ministries, and to maintain a solid foundation into which we will soon welcome a new rector.
The current financial situation at St. Benedict's is not trending well. Year to date we have received $328,251 on a budget of $387,828. Expenses are running below budget also which does help. Please help by bringing your pledge current.
If you are able to keep up your pledge or make loose offerings, there are three ways.
2. Mail a check to the church, 2160 Cooper Lake Rd SE, Smyrna, GA 30080.
The mail is checked regularly.
3. Set up automatic payments through your own bank.
We appreciate your prayers and all the ways you give to Christ's ministry.

Your Pastoral Care Team is Ready to Serve!
A reminder to all parishioners that St. Benedict's is committed to the various care needs of its member families. A dedicated group of volunteers are continuing to offer their time to serve our church community within various pastoral care capacities, including prayer requests, meal delivery and help to families in need, Eucharistic visits with Diocesan-approved safe protocols, and more.
Do not hesitate to reach out to Kerry Thomas or Anna Best about Pastoral care needs for yourself, your family, or your friends. We are here to help and serve!
Additionally, Georgia's Department of Behavioral Health has established an emotional support line for individuals that may not need crisis care but do find themselves in need of emotional connection. Georgia's Crisis and Access Line can be accessed at 1-800-715-4225, or by downloading the MYGCAL app for text and chatting if there is a crisis. This is a free, confidential 24/7 hour crisis line staffed by licensed clinicians year round.
