Our Christmas Service will premier virtually at 7:00 pm Christmas Eve. One of the benefits of a virtual service is that if you prefer to celebrate at 11:00 pm you can wait and watch it then!

St. Benedict’s, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting this year’s 2020 Angel Tree.
We made a plea for help and you came to the rescue and supported our Angel Tree kids. You reached out to your neighbors, friends, and extended family and they helped too. It was wonderful to see the support for this effort. Last year we supported 25 families with 68 children. This year by the time we were done we had helped 42 families and 118 children. Some of the needs were just heartbreaking. Many of the children requested shoes or school supplies rather than toys. Thanks to your support we were able to give every child a new outfit, a “wish” and give each family a gift card for food.
One of our favorite parts was seeing all of your names on the SignUpGenius – and even better was seeing your faces (or at least the parts not covered by a mask) at the drop-off. We met one young lady who raised money for the Angel Tree. That money was matched by her parents and then she selected wishes to fulfill and purchased the gifts herself. We had to limit the number of people helping on days for drop off and pick up but we were so thankful for the ones that were able to be there. We had a card writer that wrote cards to each family from St. Benedict’s. We had an emergency shopper that filled in missing items. We had volunteers to sort and check to see that all the gifts for a family were correct and organized. Probably the most fun we had was when the parents came to pick up their gifts. It was truly rewarding and humbling to be able to pass out these gifts on your behalf and on behalf of St. Benedict’s. Blessings to you all and Merry Christmas!

As we approach the end of 2020 we want to ask that you please complete your pledge commitment as you are able. We understand that 2020 has been a crazy year for us, and it's been difficult not worshiping in person. However there are many things to be thankful for in this time and one is that St. Benedict's is still our church, and we are worshiping in various ways. As Bishop Wright likes to remind us; we are the church not the building itself. So out of gratitude please remember St. Benedict's this month as we move from Advent to the celebration of Christmas.
If you have not received a letter with a gift from the Stewardship Committee, please email Monty at monty@mysaintb.org and we will send you one.
We have received $282,540 from 61 pledges so far. Thank you to those who have already pledged. Please make sure to get yours in so it can be counted. You may mail the pledge card to church or pledge online at mysaintb.org/giving.

Our new rector, The Rev. Jenna Strizak, would like to begin to get to know the people of St. Benedict's. She would like you to send her an email at jenna@mysaintb.org to introduce yourself, and if you have a picture to include that would be even better. She would like to hear how you participate at St. Benedict's and what you love about your church. The caveat is that she is still actively involved at Holy Trinity through Christmas so don't expect a lengthy response from her.

Although we have not been gathering in the church, we continue to rely on your generous giving to support our wonderful staff, our ministries, and to maintain a solid foundation.
The current financial situation at St. Benedict's is not trending well. Year to date we have received $328,251 on a budget of $387,828. Expenses are running below budget also which does help. Please help by bringing your pledge current.
If you are able to keep up your pledge or make loose offerings, there are three ways.
2. Mail a check to the church, 2160 Cooper Lake Rd SE, Smyrna, GA 30080.
The mail is checked regularly.
3. Set up automatic payments through your own bank.
We appreciate your prayers and all the ways you give to Christ's ministry.

A reminder to all parishioners that St. Benedict's is committed to the various care needs of its member families. A dedicated group of volunteers are continuing to offer their time to serve our church community within various pastoral care capacities, including prayer requests, meal delivery and help to families in need, Eucharistic visits with Diocesan-approved safe protocols, and more.
Do not hesitate to reach out to Kerry Thomas or Anna Best about Pastoral care needs for yourself, your family, or your friends. We are here to help and serve!
Additionally, Georgia's Department of Behavioral Health has established an emotional support line for individuals that may not need crisis care but do find themselves in need of emotional connection. Georgia's Crisis and Access Line can be accessed at 1-800-715-4225, or by downloading the MYGCAL app for text and chatting if there is a crisis. This is a free, confidential 24/7 hour crisis line staffed by licensed clinicians year round.
