Would you like to read at the services? Please consider signing up for one of the two slots at every recorded and in-person service.
We would like to have as many different readers as possible to give our congregation an opportunity to hear and see from a variety of parishioners.

Abiding in Christ: Prayers for our Sacramental Life
|

First Communion (Feb. 28)
Congratulations to Hayden Marie and Woods Robinson!
Their joy at receiving the body of Christ was palpable. Give thanks to Jesus in your prayers this week for feeding them, and us, with his own self.

Preparing for Confirmation and Reception (March 14)
Please pray for Sam Belcher, Laura Bracci, Maria Pineiro, Bob and Jenny Porter, Christie and Greg Stevens, Taylor Stukes, and Glenda Underwood as they prepare for Confirmation and Reception. Watch this space and our social media next week for a chance to hear from our confirmands and get to know them a bit.
Easter Baptism (Apr. 4th)
Please pray for Paxton Searcy, and his parents Julia and Houston, as he prepares for full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ's body, the Church.
|
|
Baptism is full initiation, by water and the Holy Spirit, into Christ's body the church. People of all ages are baptized at St. Benedict's. If you desire Holy Baptism for you or your child, or are even just curious about baptism, please reach out to Mo. Jenna. I am trying to get a sense of how many folks might be desiring baptism this Eastertide and beyond.

Outdoor Church Service - 2:00 pm
|
|
Celebrate Holy Eucharist together in person every Sunday at 2:00 pm in the upper lot. If the weather is bad, we'll send an email cancelling by 11:00 am that day.
Please register ahead of time. We are limited to 75 folks per service. Please wear a mask, dress for the weather, and bring a chair and a Book of Common Prayer if you have one. Also: Valerie will be leading us in music some weeks; if you are a musician of any variety, we'd love to have you take a week to offer some simple music for our outdoor worship. Please be in touch with Valerie or Mother Jenna.

Sundays 9:30 a.m.
Join us for Adult Formation on Zoom to continue our theological reflection on Lent. This week we'll look at what St. Benedict, our patron, had to say about Lent. We'll spend some time in small group discussion. If you want to take a look ahead of time at this VERY short chapter of the Rule, it's here , but please join our discussion even if you don't get a chance to read it.
Links to join will be sent in Saturday's email.

Given the ongoing challenge of COVID-19, this year's Hunger Walk Run will take place VIRTUALLY. Even though we can't gather in person, the pressing need to raise funds and awareness for hunger in Georgia has not diminished. Thank you to those who have already set up their teams to continue the fight against hunger!
In addition to the virtual event, we will also be sharing a youth-led worship service on ECF's YouTube channel with a sermon by the Rt. Rev. Robert C. Wright. This service will be shared at 1pm, and the Hunger Walk Run will begin shortly after that!

We are introducing a Lenten calendar for your kids to peruse during this season! It works just like a virtual Advent calendar-- open the door corresponding to the current day of Lent. There will be an image, or a song, or a read-aloud based on the lectionary readings of the day. I hope this will help your children spend a little time each day thinking about what Lent means to them. You can find the calendar HERE.

Sign up for a round of golf with your St. B's friends at Indian Hills Country Club on April 19.
If you don't play golf but still want to help raise money for the Outreach ministries of St. B's, find a local business to be a sponsor, or sign up for a sponsorship yourself. Thanks to Zag Equipment Sales (Tim Gould) and K-9 Coach (Amber & Jarette Burckhalter) for already signing up as sponsors.
Please know that due to COVID restrictions we are delaying the Low Country Boil Dinner but will be back in August 28, 2021.

The Golf Tournament and Auction will be taking place in separate months. Our goal is to get further along in the pandemic and vaccinations, so we can have an in-person dinner and auction. We’re STILL looking for talented individuals to serve on the Auction/Dinner Committee.
Contact Bob Porter (770-712-9984) or Robin Cubbage (404-276-5345).

A reminder to all parishioners that St. Benedict's is committed to the various care needs of its member families. A dedicated group of volunteers are continuing to offer their time to serve our church community within various pastoral care capacities, including prayer requests, transportation, meal delivery, Eucharistic visits with Diocesan-approved safe protocols, and more. Mo. Jenna is also readily available for prayers, calls and/or visits for those in need.
Do not hesitate to reach out to Kerry Thomas or Anna Best about Pastoral care needs for yourself, your family, or your friends. We are here to help and serve!
