Our new rector, The Rev. Jenna Strizak, would like to begin to get to know the people of St. Benedict's. She would like you to send her an email at jenna@mysaintb.org to introduce yourself, and if you have a picture to include that would be even better. She would like to hear how you participate at St. Benedict's and what you love about your church. The caveat is that she is still actively involved at Holy Trinity through Christmas so don't expect a lengthy response from her.

We have had an unprecedented number of our Path to Shine and St. Jude's families request help for their children this year. Over 100 children's wishes were placed on our virtual tree. The response from St. Benedict's and the community has been amazing and we are now down the final few tags if you would like to help spread joy.
If you would like to take a tag and shop for items for a child, use the Angel Tree sign-up button below. Gifts must be dropped off at St. Jude's, 220 Windy Hill Rd., this Saturday or Sunday between 9-12.
If you can donate a gift card or money for a gift card, please use the Gift Card Sign-up button below. Please remember to add a comment to indicate if you are mailing money to the church, or dropping off a gift card at St. B’s or at St. Jude’s.
Secondly, this Saturday or Sunday we need 10 people (wearing masks) to receive the gifts, sort, and pass them out to families as they come to pick up on Sunday. We will be in the Parish Hall of St. Jude’s Episcopal at 220 Windy Hill Rd. Slots are from 9-12 on Saturday/Sunday and another slot from 1-3 on Sunday for gift pickup. Click the volunteer button below.
Thank you,
Sandy Meyer and Christie Stevens

As you know our theme this year is "IMAGINE St. Benedict's" as we look forward to 2021. 2020 has provided us the time for reflection and for imagining what St. B's can become in the coming year.
If you have not received a letter with a gift from the Stewardship Committee, please email Monty at monty@mysaintb.org and we will send you one.
We have received $264,240 from 57 pledges so far. Thank you to those who have already pledged. Please make sure to get yours in so it can be counted. You may mail the pledge card to church or pledge online at mysaintb.org/giving.

Although we have not been gathering in the church, we continue to rely on your generous giving to support our wonderful staff, our ministries, and to maintain a solid foundation.
The current financial situation at St. Benedict's is not trending well. Year to date we have received $328,251 on a budget of $387,828. Expenses are running below budget also which does help. Please help by bringing your pledge current.
If you are able to keep up your pledge or make loose offerings, there are three ways.
2. Mail a check to the church, 2160 Cooper Lake Rd SE, Smyrna, GA 30080.
The mail is checked regularly.
3. Set up automatic payments through your own bank.
We appreciate your prayers and all the ways you give to Christ's ministry.

A reminder to all parishioners that St. Benedict's is committed to the various care needs of its member families. A dedicated group of volunteers are continuing to offer their time to serve our church community within various pastoral care capacities, including prayer requests, meal delivery and help to families in need, Eucharistic visits with Diocesan-approved safe protocols, and more.
Do not hesitate to reach out to Kerry Thomas or Anna Best about Pastoral care needs for yourself, your family, or your friends. We are here to help and serve!
Additionally, Georgia's Department of Behavioral Health has established an emotional support line for individuals that may not need crisis care but do find themselves in need of emotional connection. Georgia's Crisis and Access Line can be accessed at 1-800-715-4225, or by downloading the MYGCAL app for text and chatting if there is a crisis. This is a free, confidential 24/7 hour crisis line staffed by licensed clinicians year round.
