Commissioners' Corner

Commissioners Kerr: Celebrating Diversity in Jeffco

On Feb. 13, the Board of County Commissioners issued a statement in support of Jefferson County employees. This statement reinforced that the commissioners would uphold the values of our county, for employees, as well as for the community, when it comes to diversity, equity, and inclusion. It is important that people feel safe and supported in Jeffco.

We know that not everyone in our community feels exactly the same way regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion. We believe in diversity of opinions, and we believe that everyone has a right to their own beliefs. We want to support and hear from everyone, no matter how they feel, and we appreciate hearing from everyone, including people who don’t always agree with us. Read the full article.

Jefferson County's Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

Over the last month, we have heard uncertainty and concern from our community about the impact of the White House’s wide-ranging executive orders.

Let us be clear on where we stand: Jefferson County will not waver on our core values, which include equity, diversity, and inclusion. We will continue to protect and advocate for all community members, especially our most vulnerable neighbors.

We are stronger together. While it is still unclear how the executive orders will impact Jefferson County, we are preparing for any outcome and will keep you informed.

Please refer back to this page regularly for any federal impact updates.
