The Office of Community Involvement (OCI) was created by voters in Multnomah County in 1984. We are charged with developing and maintaining community involvement programs and procedures to facilitate direct communication between the community and the Board of County Commissioners.

We welcome everyone who lives, works, plays, and worships in Multnomah County to participate in shaping our county policies, budgets, and programs. Here are some opportunities for community members to engage:

Community Opportunities:

Join Multnomah County Chair Jessica Vega Pederson for a virtual budget town hall. County experts will share the economic forecast, the budget process and timeline, and participants will have the opportunity for engagement. Chair Vega Pederson will host a Q&A where folks can submit questions and receive real time answers.

It’s one of the most exciting time of the year here at MYC. We are excited to announce the recruitment for the 2024- 2025 MYC cohort.

MYC applicants must be between the ages of 13- 21 (as of August 1, 2024) and live, work or go to school in Multnomah County. Applications are DUE by Monday, April 15, 2024 at 11:59pm.

We are looking for youth who truly represent the cross-section of demographics, identities, and experiences of ALL young people in our community. No special skills or experience required- just a passion for making our community a better place. Youth who are interested in policy, activism, or community organizing are encouraged to apply.

Now Accepting Applications for Multnomah County Justice Fellowship

The Justice Fellowship is a four-month leadership and civic engagement opportunity for members of the community who are interested in criminal justice policy. A cohort of 10 justice fellows will meet weekly to learn about components of the public safety system, from 911 dispatch to parole, grant writing to activism.

Application and nomination forms for the Justice Fellowship are available through February 9, 2024.
