Holding Space for Others Stories
Dear Church,

Approaching the 30th of September comes with additional attention this year, with the federal declaration of National Day of Truth and Reconciliation and a continued season of national mourning over the confirmation of many more children lost through the Residential School system than previously federally recognized.

Acknowledging the movement’s origins in 2013, and the renewed momentum to recognize the survivors and legacy of Residential Schools, how can we continue to pursue reconciliation?

World Partners is grateful to host this week's reflections on behalf of the EMCC. We will be hearing from indigenous friends, those continuing to build relationship with First Peoples, and those who have ventured on a journey toward reconciliation, on a personal and congregational level. As you read these reflections, you will receive continued invitations to action. I pray that you will depend on the Spirit of Jesus as you consider your own response.

Today, we are grateful to hear Stan and Sally Bragg introduce us to the Nawash House of Prayer team.
Thanks for being on the journey together,
Director, World Partners
Reflections from the Nawash House of Prayer Team, who the EMCC family is getting to know through Stan and Sally Bragg.

The Nawash House of Prayer team is led by Carmen Jones, a leader who interned with World Partners through relationship with Stan and Sally Bragg. He, alongside a passionate team, are serving the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation on Neyaashiinigmiing and the surrounding area.

World Partners is grateful to see a number of EMCC churches be introduced to Carmen via Stan and Sally, including Listowel EMC whose video we are linking today.

May we listen to members of the team as they generously share their personal stories and experience in both being part of and serving their community.

"Our people are not a problem to be fixed, but a relationship to be had.” - Carmen Jones
Speaking begins at 29:00 through to 1:13:56,
closing worship by Josie goes to 1:20:09.
