Choosing an Alongside Posture
Dear Church,

“Carry eachOt other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” - Galatians 6:2

Today’s reflection comes from Rob and Sharlene Dilts, WP supervised global workers who have been living in Golden Lake and walking alongside the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation for nine years in the unceded traditional lands of the Algonquin peoples.

In those nine years, Rob and Sharlene have sought to do as Galatians 6:2 encourages each of us to do. I hope you find their account of this past summer a practical demonstration of what is outlined in these verses.

This article is featured in our Fall 2021 EMCC Together newsletter, and contains some suggested next steps as we all seek to walk the road of reconciliation.

May you sense what God is saying to you through their words and what He may ask you to do about it.
Thanks for being on the journey together,
Director, World Partners

“I have a responsibility to be a part of the healing and to represent the church in the harms that were done against indigenous children in the name of the church. I believe it is the responsibility of us all” - Rob Dilts
