Annual Campaign 2023

The challenges have kept coming. From lockdown to reopening; from conflict in Israel to war in Ukraine; from economic pressures to rising inflation; from certainty to uncertainty again. Through days that tested our resolve we did not waiver. And now we head into our Annual Campaign season with Josh Engel and Evelyn Silverman at the helm as this year’s co-chairs.

AJA50+ program celebrates
20th anniversary

Coming off a strong two years of COVID-era connections, the ‘Creative Connections’ program associated with AJA (Active Jewish Adults) 50+ is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

‘Piece’ and joy abounds at Hillel Lodge with collaborative artwork

Residents at the Bess and Moe Greenberg Family Hillel Lodge worked on a collaborative art piece during 10 weekly art therapy sessions this spring and summer, and finally put their creation on display in August.

Ottawa teacher honoured with equity activism award

Jewish community member and teacher Lisa Levitan is a recent recipient of the 2022 Anti-Racist and Equity Activism Award from the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (EFTO).
