January 2024 is legislative month, and FES, in collaboration with ACEC Florida, will be engaged with Professional Engineers Legislative Days on January 9-10, 2024. We are tracking several House and Senate bills on which we have taken some positions to protect our profession and industry.

Join Our Weekly Legislative Update Calls | |
FES and ACEC Florida invite you to participate in weekly Legislative Update calls every Friday during the Legislative Session via Microsoft Teams. There are two calls: an environmental update at 9:00 am and a general bills update at 10:00 am.
You do not have to register for these calls in advance. Simply join the Microsoft Teams meeting. Each call has its own link, which will be the same each week.

Advanced Florida Building Code, Existing Building 8th Edition (2023) Update | |
If you are a Professional Engineer whose practice includes design or systems covered by the Florida Building Code, you need to take this required course on January 16, 2024, from 1-3 pm to retain the "Special Qualifications" designation.
This updated 8th Edition (2023) Florida Building Code, Existing Building Volume, provides an overview of some of the most significant changes. Code changes from the (2021) International Existing Building Code and Florida Specific Code Amendments will be identified and discussed.
Registration ends Monday, January 15, 2024.

FDOTConnect Virtual Training Lab: Roadway Plan Development Workflows | |
This is a 2-day training course to introduce OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition - OpenRoads Technology tools for Plan Development Workflows on Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) projects. The curriculum was developed within the FDOTConnect Workspace to provide sample exercises for most of the new Plan Development tools on a sample project data set.
