Dear BOMA/Chicago Member,
We are pleased to announce that the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 399, and our BOMA/Chicago Board ratified the terms of a new agreement covering operating engineer employees in our buildings. This new contract will run from May 15, 2023, through May 17, 2026.
The full contract along with a summary of the changes is available below. These documents are also available on your member Info Hub page via the BOMA/Chicago website.
The new contract allows for an annual increase in wages and employer contributions to the health and welfare, pension, and/or education funds through the final year of the contract. In addition, there are some term revisions, including a waiver of the Illinois Paid Leave for All Act and a reduction in the days of written notice required for non-layoff or furlough termination.
Over the three-year term of the new contract, the total compensation package increase averages 3.7% annually.
I would like to thank the members of the BOMA/Chicago Labor Committee for their hard work and time commitment during these negotiations.
This labor contract is a benefit extended only to those building members of BOMA/Chicago in good standing that choose to take advantage of it by becoming signatories. The value of this member benefit alone can easily exceed a building's annual dues.
Thank you for your continued support.
Regards,
|
