Students at Colorado's Finest Cosmetology Academy practiced theater makeup by forming teams and creating Disney Villains for an in-class competition.
Meet Our New Principals
Dear Parent, Guardian, or Community Member;

Starting in the 2016-2017 school year, we will have two new leaders in the district.

Shanna Martin will be the new principal of Bishop Elementary. Shanna has four years of experience as an elementary principal, and many years serving as an assistant principal. Shanna is looking forward to joining the Bishop family and is collaborating with Linda Lewis and the Bishop team for a smooth transition. You can get to know Shanna at the Bishop Town Hall meeting on April 7 at 5:30.

Ryan West will be the new principal of the Englewood Campus. Ryan taught in Jefferson County at both the middle and high school levels from 1992-2005 and has been a building administrator at the elementary, middle and high school levels since then. He is currently the Director of Choice Programming for Jeffco Schools. Ryan is very excited to continue to honor the traditions of Pirate Pride as well as work on creating a cohesive campus with a family-like feel at TEC. You can meet Ryan at TEC on March 16 at 6:15 p.m.
Elementary School Town Hall Meetings

Are you interested in the future of your child's or neighborhood's elementary school and the district? Want to give feedback about what is going well and what might need to be changed?

Join Superintendent Wendy Rubin at each of the elementary schools for a town hall meeting to discuss the current state and the future of Englewood Schools.

The town hall meetings will be at each school on the following dates:

Bishop Elementary: April 7, 2016 at 5:30 p.m.
Charles Hay World School: April 12, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.
Cherrelyn Elementary: March 29, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. We hope to see you there!

Colorado's Finest Cosmetology Academy
Colorado's Finest Cosmetology Academy is located in Colorado's Finest High School of Choice.

The Academy is a two-year, 1,800 hour, full-service cosmetology program that prepares students to become certified in cosmetology.

Recently, while practicing theater make-up, the students participated in a competition to create Disney Villains. Cruella DeVil, Ursula, and the Evil Queen from Snow White were popular choices. The competition was judged by the use of make up, costumes, and props.
Thank You for Your Feedback!

Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote in our core values survey! The results are in, and the five core values that represent the Englewood Schools community are:
  • High Expectations
  • Accountability
  • Community
  • Respect
  • Integrity
These values are going to help shape the direction of our district moving forward, starting with a comprehensive strategic plan. Stay tuned for more details.

PBiS Monthly Focus: Stress Management
Englewood is a PBiS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) district which means that each school is focused on encouraging and upholding positive behavior expectations for students and staff in order to create a supportive school climate. A positive school climate helps students feel safe and supported so they can engage in learning. When families, schools, and communities work together, kids succeed!

Each month, check here for resources and strategies from the district PBiS team. To learn more about PBiS in your child's school, feel free to reach out to teachers and staff!
