Museum Passes

Have you ever seen this iconic picture? It's a photograph made by former Boston Herald photojournalist Arthur Pollack, of a brontosaurus replica being delivered to the Museum of Science on July 4, 1984. The dinosaur weighed 1,000 pounds and was 34-feet long, so a helicopter was the only way to make sure it arrived safely at its destination!

You can use your library card to reserve a pass to the Museum of Science to visit the dinosaurs (and all their friends). One pass will admit up to 4 people at a 50% discount.

Dinosaurs not your thing? Beebe Library offers discount passes to many Boston-area museums. You can learn more about our museum pass program on our website, or call the Reference Desk at 781-246-6334.

Conversations Unpacking Whiteness

Five Sundays beginning February 25

4:00 to 6:00 PM - On Zoom

Fish don't see water. Birds don't see air. And white people may not fully see how their whiteness affects their life experiences.

With video clips, articles, and small- and large-group activities, Conversations Unpacking Whiteness brings together white-identified people in a safe setting to see how this came to be the case. Guided by two facilitators, we explore aspects of our culture that prevent us from seeing ourselves and people of color without deeply ingrained distortions.

These sessions will take place on five consecutive Sundays, beginning February 25.

To register and receive the Zoom link email the facilitator: ConvosAboutWhiteness@gmail.com
