Special thanks to our Presenting Sponsor - Orlando Health and our Diamond Sponsors - AdventHealth and Wharton Smith, Inc.

Help Ensure Students Have Access to

Healthy Food

Help ensure students have access to healthy food! Many Seminole County students live in households that rely on SNAP food assistance.

If the federal shutdown continues past November 1, SNAP benefits will not be issued until federal funding is restored. We anticipate an increase in students needing weekend and after-school food support. Please consider donating to the Families in Need program to provide emergency assistance to these families.

Donate now to help feed our students.

This incredible contribution, made possible through the success of the 8th Annual Sanford Porchfest, will fund three programs dedicated to keeping the arts thriving in Seminole County: Young People's Concert, Grants for Great Ideas, and Senior Arts Scholarships.

"We are truly humbled by the opportunity to reinvest in the future of our local arts through Sanford Porchfest Corporation. Thank you for all the support and for being a great neighbor." - Sanford Porchfest

Power Good With Your Retirement Funds

If you’re 73 or older, the IRS requires you to start taking money from your traditional retirement account by December 31 each year.

If you don’t need the funds and want to use it to power good, consider distributing the funds to the Foundation as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). Not only are you supporting students, you receive a tax benefit! QCDs to the Foundation are excluded from your taxable income. For many people, this can be the simplest way to reduce your tax bill for the year.

If you would like to make a QCD, the funds must come directly from your IRA to the Foundation by December 31. If you have questions, please contact the Foundation at 407-320-0180.

Have You Heard?

Our Take Stock in Children team had a busy start to the school year with matching over 30 new student / mentor pairs! These students start the program in 9th grade and have the guidance of a mentor through all four years of high school.

Thank you to all of our incredible mentors who once again signed on for this commitment, we can't wait for another great year of mentor sessions!

In October, our Grants for Great Ideas Committee awarded and delivered checks for 24 projects in Cycle I for a total of $37,478!

This program provides funding for teachers to create memorable hands-on learning experiences in their classrooms. From salad and pizza gardens to building solar panels to immersive experiences, the possibilities are endless and we're always excited to see what our teachers come up with.

Cycle II review is currently underway.
