Our teachers are going above and beyond to get students excited about science through hands on projects. One such teacher, Linda Nunez, wanted to start a school garden club, but didn’t have funds to purchase the equipment and plants. Thanks to our donors, we were able to give Linda a grant through our Grants for Great Ideas Program.
With funding for this project, each week her students researched different plants and how to take care of them, and then got the opportunity to plant and harvest foods such as onions, broccoli, or cabbage.
“They will be deepening their understanding of plants while increasing their knowledge of plants and animals, while also helping beautify our school campus. This will build pride for their accomplishment in collaborating with other students.” – Linda Nunez.
You can see the impact of our community’s donations in the hard work and smiles of Linda’s students in the video!
