JDMI Autumn
"I can smell autumn dancing in the breeze.
The sweet chill of pumpkin, and crisp sunburnt leaves."
-Ann Drake
Dear Friends,

Fall in New England is iconic with its distinctly scented air, impossibly blue skies, refreshingly cool nights, and endless array of autumn hues! The fall season incites visions of apple cider, pumpkin spice, scenic drives, and fall hikes. After a seemingly long summer, no doubt you're more than ready to escape for a fall getaway.

We welcome you to stay safely with us at Jack Daniels Motor Inn, where we continue to take the utmost care in following recommended precautions. The State of New Hampshire is currently allowing open travel for New Hampshire residents and visitors from Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. If you're from another state, you're also welcome after meeting the 14-day “quarantine at home” requirement. Please visit our COVID-19 page for the latest updates.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Scenic Fall Foliage Drives
Hop in the car with a hot cup of pumpkin spice flavored coffee, and venture out toward Keene or Hancock for an awe-inspiring scenic drive. The countryside surrounding our inn is the perfect backdrop for your fall getaway. Here are several fall foliage drives around Peterborough for a truly memorable excursion.
Pack Monadnock Raptor Observatory
New Hampshire's Oldest State Park
Miller State Park is located on the 2,290' summit of Pack ("Little") Monadnock, where you can see Mount Washington, Vermont's hills, and Boston's skyscrapers on a clear day. The park's scenic overlook will give you a bird's eye view of miles of fall foliage as well as the annual migration of thousands of hawks in September and October. Reserve your spot for this once-a-year experience! The park also offers hiking trails for an up-close-and-personal view of the seasonal transformation. Reservations are required to limit the number of people on the trail at one time.
Apples, Pumpkins & More!
At Peterborough's Downtown Farmers Market, you'll find some of the best and freshest produce around! Each Wednesday, from 3-6pm, local farmers will sell their delicious fruits and vegetables. You'll also be able to peruse fresh flowers, plants, maple products, baked goods, meat, crafts, ethnic foods and wine for sale, while enjoying live music.

For those of you who would like to pick your own apples this fall, there are two wonderful orchards nearby: 1) McLeod Orchard, in its 75th year, which also sells tomatoes, squash and pumpkins along with some wonderful local products at their stand; 2) Washburn's Windy Hill Orchard, which offers apple and pumpkin picking, a corn maze, and beautiful views!
