Praise Break Report

Recently on the way home, I caught a glorious glimpse of the sun, a shining ball of bright orange, as it slowly dipped behind a wall of high rises, set against a blue-grey sky. It was truly beautiful. At the time, I was working to decompress from a somewhat hectic day. But seeing the sun setting in those glorious hues gave my mind and emotions a moment of rest.
Our God has given us a world full of wonders. It is easy to bypass the beauty we’ve been blessed with in the daily hustle and grind. But we can change that by being purposeful. When you’re out and about, savor a sunset! If you can, take a walk in your community, and look for the flowers. When you’re driving and at a stoplight, glance around – sometimes you’ll find flowers planted in the median!
Spring is here – buds are sprouting, leaves are growing. Delight in the greenery, the life around you! Enjoy the breeze on your face and skin. Soak it all up, and give thanks to God!
If you consciously make an effort to notice the wondrous works around you, it will bless your spirit and soul. In addition to the delight they offer in and of themselves, their biggest treasure is that they are all reminders of our Great Creator, and the amazing love He has for us in giving us such wonders to enjoy.

Let's give Him some Praise!

The following is Part 2 of a Praise Report from Pastor Lori Hartman, who leads a congregation in a large, historic church in New York’s Harlem community. The church, planned and built by African-Americans, is almost 100 years old and, and needed some major repair work. The contractor hired to do the job was corrupt, didn’t do the work, and threated to report the church building to the city and put a lien on the property for bogus, backdated invoices for equipment rentals:
“I really needed this contractor to leave the site so we could get a new contractor to quickly address the urgent, unsafe condition of the roof and the unfinished work. I met with our Trustee Board to update and to encourage them to hold off on all their complaints and gossip about the situation and replace them with prayer. We prayed for the safety of the building and for our neighbors and pedestrians walking by; for a new contractor to come to us with integrity, expertise and competence, and for discernment to know they were the right ones; and finally, and most importantly we prayed to forgive the existing contractor and for God to bless him in his business and his life....and to seamlessly remove him from our lives without any trouble.
I extended my prayer request to WORD Fellowship Ministries who advised that we [our church] are on their prayer list and they continually pray for us. Pastor Tedi, Minister Ann and Minister Monica prayed with me in their prayer session about our situation with the contractor and our needs. They stood in agreement with our church prayers for the whole situation. It was like God had brought us together to speak His plan into manifestation. They shared with me what God revealed to them as God's vision and plan for the church, the congregation and for me.
I accepted the answered prayer as reality, surrendering to God's outcome and then anger, anxiety and frustration lifted away from me.”

Salvation or Restoration
If you would like to accept and confess Jesus Christ, making Him your personal Lord and Savior, or if you have turned away from Him to go your own way and wish to return to Him, pray the following prayer aloud:
Dear Jesus,
I believe You are the Son of God.
I believe You died and rose from the dead on the third day.
I believe You are alive and seated at the right hand of the Father.
I believe you died for my sin; paying the debt for sin that I could not pay myself.
Please forgive me for all my sin.
Please come into my heart and my life, and be my Lord and Savior.
I am forgiven. I am now born-again. I am now a child of God.
Thank You, Lord.
