We bless you, God of Seed and Harvest and we bless each other that the beauty of this world and the love that created it might be expressed through our lives and be a blessing to others now and always.

November 1, 2026 Seasonal Clean-up Begins

As we approach the time of seasonal clean-up, we want to remind you that this important process will commence on November 1st across all our cemeteries. We kindly ask that you take a moment to remove any personal items you wish to keep before this date. This allows us to maintain the serene and respectful environment that is so crucial for honoring the memories of your loved ones.

A Special Thank You to Bill and Kevin Sage of

Sage Bros. Painting Company for their kind and generous act of patriotism.

On October 6th members of the CRAB Garrison 1954 Veterans Group gathered to watch the unveiling of the newly restored historic sign recognizing Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient, Pvt. Michael Burke who rests in peace in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy, NY. Pvt. Burke died a young man in 1878. The sign erected in his honor decades ago was badly peeling and difficult to read. Jack Welsh, an active member of the veterans group contacted the cemetery's historian, Kelly Grimaldi with a plan of action to restore the sign pro bono with the assistance of Sage Bros. Painting Company of Troy. It was a wonderful offer as nobody on staff at Albany Diocesan Cemeteries had any expertise in the art of sign refurbishing which is why it was the state it was in. See the dramatic difference below:

Great News for all Our Family Researchers and History Buffs!

We are thrilled to announce that the burial records prior to 1975 and lot cards for most of our cemeteries managed from the Most Holy Redeemer office in Niskayuna are now publicly accessible at no cost! This significant step towards transparency allows you to view the same information we have in our archives, providing a heartfelt opportunity to honor your loved ones’ legacies. You can now explore the connections between families and discover where they rest together in Our Lady of Angels, Most Holy Redeemer, Holy Cross,

St. John the Baptist, St. Mary's Schenectady, Immaculate Conception, and St. Agnes Cohoes. We are proud to have made this possible through a generous grant from the New York State Genealogical and Biographical Society, reinforcing our commitment to supporting families and communities. Please note that the remaining records from Most Holy Redeemer's office, including St. Anthony's and

Sts. Cyril and Method and records from St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands office will also be made available soon. We encourage you to click on the link below to uncover the wealth of information waiting for you, as you delve into your family history and create a lasting connection to those who came before you.

May God Bless our Veterans

As Veterans' Day approaches, we would like to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for the generous volunteers of all ages who dedicate their time and effort to honor our veterans by placing flags on their graves. This meaningful act involves carefully walking through each section and row, seeking out government-issued headstones and markers to ensure that the sacrifices of these brave individuals are recognized and remembered. However, it is important to note that veterans interred or inurned in privately memorialized graves may not receive a flag due to the absence of visible evidence of military service. In light of this, we warmly encourage families to take an active role in memorializing their loved ones by placing flags on their graves. This personal gesture not only honors their legacy but also fosters a deeper connection and sense of responsibility within the community.

November is Dedicated to the

Month of Holy Souls

As we enter November, our hearts turn in a special way to remembrance. The Catholic Church dedicates this sacred season to the Month of Holy Souls beginning with All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. It is a time when all 23 of our beautiful cemetery grounds—from Historic St. Agnes in Menands to Most Holy Redeemer in Niskayuna —become a living testament to our faith. Families visit our sacred grounds daily to pray for our departed loved ones, united in the hopeful promise of Christ’s Resurrection.

Managing 23 sacred Catholic cemeteries across the Greater Capital Region is a profound ministry. Our spaces are more than just resting places; they are holy ground governed by a tradition of faith. We are dedicated to maintaining the dignity, beauty, and peaceful sanctuary of these properties for your family’s legacy of faith.

An Act of Love: The True Meaning of Pre-Planning

When a family chooses to pre-plan their burial needs, it brings an incredible sense of relief and peace, which most people don’t understand until they experience it personally. All too often, these difficult choices are forced upon families during moments of deep grief, leading to emotional stress and rushed choices.

Pre-planning your resting place is a final act of stewardship and love that protects your family's unity. By establishing your family estate or heritage plot now, you give your children and grandchildren a permanent, sacred anchor—a dedicated space where your family will remain together in faith, side-by-side, awaiting the Resurrection. To all our mausoleum crypt and niche owners and families, our fall flowers and bronze vases are ready to be installed. We understand that it is difficult for families to place flowers for their loved ones entombed in mausoleum crypts or inurned in niches. Let us do it for you. Our flower program was introduced this past spring and it includes the installation of a beautifully crafted bronze vase and a colorful arrangement of silk flowers that are changed with each season. Our fall arrangement is featured in the image above. Please contact Director of Sales, Nancy Bellard for details and pricing: Nancy@ADCemeteries.org (518-350-7676)
