There are plenty of wonderful ways to experience the arts this month!
Our next series of exhibitions begin on April 1. As Coquitlam Heritage curated one of the exhibitions, they are hosting a special event at Place des Arts later in the month featuring four of the artists to discuss the inspiration behind their pieces.
Today, our Summer Guide is out! Give it a read to find out about our amazing camps, classes and the wide range of opportunities to engage in the arts!
This month, if you're missing live music as much as I am, buy tickets to our classic concert, Gloomy Winter's Now Away! The eclectic repertoire is designed to fill your heart with joy through fun, delightful and passionate music.
Lastly, we are collecting submissions for our Community Exhibition coming up this June!

On April 1, from 7:00-9:00 pm, celebrate the opening of three new exhibitions:
All three exhibitions will be on view from April 1 – May 19, 2022.

On Friday, April 29, from 7:00-8:30 pm, Coquitlam Heritage is hosting an event for their new exhibition. Join four exhibiting artists to learn about the inspiration behind the pieces included in Extractions. Drinks will be served.

Our Summer Guide is out today! |
This year, we are offering a variety of options to keep up your arts education all summer!
Summer Fun! Half Day Camps | Ages 5-7, 8-12 and 11-14
Students can choose from a variety of visual and performing arts classes, providing you flexibility and choice. Sign up for one or two camps per week.
Summer Fun! Day Camps | Ages 7-10
Our Day Camps are full day, in-person camps for ages 7-10. Each week is filled with fun and engaging visual and performing arts classes.
Summer Music
During the summer months, many of Place des Arts’ music teachers offer online and in-person private lessons and accept new students. Take summer lessons to hone your skills, learn a new instrument or try out a new teacher.
Summer Dance
Summer is also a great time to get dancing! We’re offering private dance lessons and a variety of in-person dance classes in ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip hop and more for all ages!
Registration Begins on Sunday, April 10, 2022.

Upcoming Concert to bring in Spring! |

In April of 2020, just before COVID, we were preparing to host a concert with the wonderful Triskellion. It, like many of our events, was cancelled due to the worsening conditions of the pandemic, but now IT'S BACK!

Call for Artists: Community Exhibition |
|
Place des Arts is seeking submissions from current and past students, teachers, and staff for the 2021/2022 Place des Arts Community Exhibition. The Exhibition will take place in the Atrium from June 3 – 23, 2022 and online at placedesarts.ca/exhibitions from June 10 – August 31, 2022.
This season, our theme is Transformation. Artists are encouraged to reflect on this theme in their submissions, but it is not required.
Application deadline: Monday, April 25, 2022

Festival du Bois is back this April
April 1-3, 2022
The festival returns live and in-person in Mackin Park, Coquitlam for a weekend of brilliant folk, roots, global and Québécois music from French Canada and beyond. The festival presents some of Canada’s finest music artists, engaging entertainment for kids and families, workshops, fabulous food, a market area, and a wealth of bon esprits.
