Silver Willow hosted 65 competitors for this annual event.
Fantastic warm weather, and our famous BBQ burger meal topped off a awesome day! It was so amazing to see people sitting outside enjoying their lunch and lounging after the shoot. Thanks to all the participants who made it such a great event.

Membership Changes @ Silver Willow

CHANGE is in the wind....

Offering the best possible customer service is critically important to us here at Silver Willow. To that end, starting in 2017 we will begin limiting the number of memberships sold and a
waiting list will be created once that maximum is reached. Access to Silver Willow will only to be available to members and their guests at that point. More details will be available as the year progresses. Insuring quality service, booking availability and ultimate safety are among our top reasons for this change.

Review of currant Membership policies;  
  • Membership is valid for one full year from the date of purchase.
  • Your membership clay card and all remaining clays will expire 1 month after your membership expires.
  • Annual renewals start from the date of your expiry date. If you choose to renew your membership from a later date, and there are clays that remain on your card, you have the option to forfeit the expired clays or redeem them at the currant redemption exchange rate.
  • Please advise us immediately of any email address change
  • Only members can purchase member clays or shells at the membership rate.
  • Membership is available to those over the age of 18 and who posses a valid PAL
  • Membership discounts cannot be used for corporate or special events
  • We will make every effort to send out expiration notifications, now it will be easy to renew online.

Private and semi private lessons are available at $100.00 per hour for one person or $110 per hour for two people. Gun rental, ammo and clays are extra. A minimum of 1.5 hours per lesson is recommended. Check out our website page under Instruction for all the details.

Education Moment - What is a proper gun fit ?

Shooting a shotgun effectively is the culmination of two important conditions - first, the shooter must see the target clearly, and second, the barrel of the shotgun must align properly with the shooter's vision.  This will ensure that the shot will hit where the shooter is looking.  A well-fitting shotgun mounts quickly and easily, is comfortable to shoot, and allows the shooter to see the target clearly. The shooter may also notice less recoil and less fatigue.   

There are several factors relevant to a properly fitted shotgun.  The shooter's style of shooting, length of pull, drop at the comb, drop at the heel, cast,  pitch, toe in/out, grip radius, trigger position and trigger shape are all important considerations in fitting a gun. Temporary adjustments can be made with tape, recoil pad spacers and fibreglass. When a permanent solution is required, a professional can create a custom stock from wood or fibreglass.
