Enough harmful algal blooms fouling Florida’s waterways!

Petition for clean water amendment right now!

Enough streams of toxic water releases and harmful algal blooms that result in dead zones, wildlife losses, and negative human health impacts.

Enough of the current regulatory system favoring the special interests that pollute our waters, degrade our ecosystems and challenge our health.

It is time for Floridians to take a different approach to protect our water-dependent quality of life and recognize that we have natural rights to clean water.

Sign Florida's Clean Water Amendment Petition

This new approach would establish a fundamental right to clean water for all through an amendment to our state constitution. It is legally recognizing the right of people to clean water. This is a game changer enabling us to hold our state accountable when it harms or threatens to harm Florida waters by action or inaction.

If you vote in Florida, urge your legislators to honor our right to clean water through an amendment to our state constitution.

If you don't vote in Florida and still care about clean water and wildlife, healthy seafood, and the potential for pleasant memories, please forward this petition to those who can act for us.

Help protect Florida waters with a natural right to clean water amendment.

You may support one of our campaigns by giving up a cup of coffee (or matching the cost of that necessary cup).

With ORI’s GiveUp to GiveBack initiative, you choose something you usually purchase that you're willing to give up. Choose how often and donate that amount instead (or pay the piper for an indulgence).

Consider passing on a dollar meal item, a cup of coffee, dessert, a movie ticket, a shopping trip, a haircut, or a tank of gasoline.

You may choose the ORI campaign you would most like to succeed.

GiveUp To GiveBack To ORI

Every bit, no matter how small, will make a big difference when you join with others in a collaborative effort.

Thank you.

You could make a difference with spare change

If you find this newsletter helpful, a good resource with glimmers of hope that are not available elsewhere, consider helping us with a donation.

There are three ways to give.

1.  Make a one-time donation.

2.  Giving a designated amount monthly or quarterly.

3.  ORI’s Round-up Change Program

I like the Round-up Change Program. If I buy a latte for $4.60, $4.60 goes from my credit card to buy the coffee, and 40 cents is held for ORI. At the end of the month, if $9.99 has accumulated, it is gifted to ORI. If less than that, no gift is made, and the next month starts at zero. You may set the monthly maximum to $10 or higher or not at all. Lately, I've been gifting $30 a month. When I’m spending, ORI benefits. When I’m saving, for example, packing lunch and coffee, I give less to ORI.

Check out how spare change can go to a worthy effort..
