Cornwall Library Newsletter May 2021
In February, I found out that I had aortic valve stenosis, which had progressed to the serious stage. It required surgery as soon as possible to replace the valve. This meant that I had to go on medical leave for a couple of months and that this would be at a time that is crucial to the library--the budget vote preparation and the voting day itself.  (The budget was already complete and approved by the board.) However, this meant that someone else would be at the helm of CPL during a rather hectic time. Luckily for me, CPL has a lot of talented staff who were more than willing to help.
Remember that I wrote a few months ago about projects with many moving parts? The vote is one of those projects, and Meaghan Doyle ably stepped up to the plate. She has been at the wheel since March 9th and has done quite well. I am sure that she will be a bit relieved to hand it back to me in early May when I return.

I want to thank the entire staff of CPL. You all made it possible for me to take the time off needed to take care of myself and heal from the surgery.
