Enrichment Center Closing
Dear Members,

Thank you for being a loyal member of SourcePoint. The health and well-being of our members, in-home clients, volunteers, staff, and other guests is our top priority. Our leadership team has been monitoring the ever-changing situation surrounding COVID-19 and consulting with local health officials. Based on what we learn, we will make regular adjustments to our operations.

The decisions we make align with the idea of “ flattening the curve ” of the virus spread so that our health care systems can remain responsive and efficient. As an organization that serves older adults, a population at higher risk for complications from the coronavirus, it is vital that we take a proactive approach.

CHANGES TAKING PLACE
At this time, SourcePoint feels it is in the best interest of those we serve to suspend all group programs and close the enrichment center beginning Saturday, March 14 until Monday, April 27.

  • This closure includes our five community cafes.
  • One-on-one appointments for AARP Tax-Aide, foot care, insurance counseling, caregiver support, and information and referral will continue as scheduled, with additional precautions taken.
  • SourcePoint will only be open for these appointments; it is otherwise closed to members and the public.
  • The delivery of in-home care services will continue, including Meals on Wheels.

The decision to close the center is a difficult one to make. At SourcePoint, we spend a lot of time and effort encouraging older adults to visit, knowing the benefits that socialization has on our health and well-being. At this time, however, the risks are far greater and we must do our part to protect you, your loved ones, and others in the community.

It’s important to remember that these disruptions are temporary. Social distancing does not mean social isolation, and even a potentially deadly virus should not force us to be alone. Now, more than ever, we need to find smart ways to stay connected. Stay connected and engaged in other ways—online, over the phone, and through good old-fashioned letters in the mail.

Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this crisis. SourcePoint will monitor this ever-changing situation over the next several weeks and keep you informed of any new developments. Our staff will be available by phone Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
