WHAT IF YOUR WORLD WAS
TURNED INSIDE OUT OVERNIGHT?

Cynthia's husband died suddenly, leaving her and their three children to plan for a future without him. Though heartbroken, she wasted no time and quickly found a full-time job at a packinghouse to support her family.
Adding to the complication, two of her children face serious medical issues that require constant appointments. She applied to Medicaid, which until recently had covered medical expenses, but received disturbing news in her mailbox. Her latest application was denied.

Putting her children to sleep that night, she worried about their future. What would she do now? Her job doesn't offer health insurance and she was making just enough money to get by. She decided she would need to start applying for a part-time job and work in the evenings.
Who would you turn to?

Watching as her children slept, Cynthia grappled with the idea of spending even less time with them. Her job was already a strain on that time. But consultations and treatments were necessary and she would need to make sacrifices for her children. She confided her trouble to a friend, who told her about The Glades Initiative.

Yasmin researched the case in the online system and learned that an error in Cynthia's application had caused the rejection of the Medicaid application. Like many of our clients, she struggles with technology and navigating online applications. With Yasmin's help, she reapplied and this time her Medicaid application was approved.

Today her children are thriving thanks to their health coverage. Now the family can relish time together. Life is better, thanks to the services the family received.
