Re: Entering Step 1 of the Reopening Plan              

The premier’s office has announced that Ontario will enter into Step 1 of the new Reopening Plan effective Friday, June 11th, 2021. Information about the Reopening Plan can be found here: https://www.ontario.ca/page/reopening-ontario
At this time, Special Olympics Ontario’s in-person programs will remain on a temporary hold. We are consulting various agencies to seek input on the impact of vaccinations, as it would apply to our membership and re-starting in-person programs. We want to ensure that when our programs return to in person again, we will be in a position to provide a safe and healthy environment for everyone to enjoy. 
All Special Olympics Ontario programs will continue with the following guidelines until further notice:

While we are very encouraged by the progression, there’s a significant amount of work that needs to happen to get sport mobile. Our health and safety protocols as well as our alignment with generic sport will take time but we’re moving in the right direction. We anticipate an evolving process with many changes along the way.
