Entrepreneur of Over Five Businesses and Foundations, Author, Mentor, and Community Builder, Meet: Jeremy L. Spratling

This December we feature the luminaries, the light bearers, the peace-makers, and those who give us hope as we approach a season of short days and long, dark nights. We invite you to meet the people and organizations who can unify, uplift, and inspire you this holiday season and in the year ahead. During this time when we seek signs of hope, courage, and generosity of spirit, leaders like Jeremy L. Spratling remind us that meaningful change is built through steady commitment and a willingness to lift others as we rise. His life’s work reflects the kind of purpose-driven leadership that strengthens communities and sparks new possibilities, and as we move through this season of reflection and renewal, Jeremy stands among those whose dedication brings light to others and encourages us to enter the new year with determination and heart.

Tell us about your personal journey.

My journey began very humbly in the heart of Talladega, Alabama, where faith, family, and community shaped my foundation. From an early age, I developed an understanding that success is not measured solely by personal gain but by how many lives you can impact along the way. That belief guided me through every chapter of my personal and professional life.

After earning my degree in Economics from Auburn University at Montgomery and completing the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University, I built a 14-year career in financial services where I served in the following roles, Stock Broker, Private Wealth Management and Commercial Banking before stepping out on faith to create my first company — Corporate Facilities Management, Inc. in 2006. What began as a small operation in Birmingham, Alabama, has now expanded across several states, delivering quality facility management solutions with a commitment to reliability and excellence.

Over time, my entrepreneurial journey evolved into a broader mission. I founded and now lead several companies — including 20/20 Optical, Premium Property Trust, Inc., JLS4 Properties, Inc., YellowHammer Crossfit and CFM Security Services, Inc. Each of these ventures reflects a different passion — from healthcare and real estate to security and community wellness — but all share one goal: creating sustainable opportunities and economic empowerment within the communities we serve.

What pivotal experiences shaped your current path?

A pivotal moment in my journey came through mentoring. As President of TDI – Turning Dreams Into Realities, I’ve dedicated myself to empowering young men through scholarships, leadership development, and exposure to pathways of success. Mentorship reminds me that leadership is about lifting others while continuing to climb. In addition to mentoring, my wife and I started The Spratling Family Foundation. Our foundation provides leadership and funding to non-profit and educational organizations in throughout the greater Alabama area.

Through my books, Do As I Say, Not As I Did: Helpful Tips to Starting a Successful Business and “It Was All a Dream: If You Can Dream It, You Can Make It Happen. We Did!,

What are the most valuable lessons you've learned through your work?

I’ve had the privilege of sharing lessons learned from years of both triumphs and setbacks. Those lessons taught me that perseverance, integrity, and faith are essential ingredients for building something meaningful — both in business and in life.

What drives your desire to contribute and make a difference?

What drives me every day is the opportunity to help others see what’s possible — especially those from underserved or underestimated backgrounds like mine. I believe entrepreneurship is a vehicle for freedom and change, and that real leadership comes from service.

What are your highest hopes for democracy to unite, uplift, and inspire?

My highest hope for democracy is that it continues to unite people through shared purpose — where every individual, regardless of their origin, has the opportunity to dream, build, and thrive.
