Stakeholders share ideas on a industry trade show and speaker series |
EnviroCollective, in collaboration with the Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Studies Network, hosted two gatherings at Luther College that brought together community leaders to discuss the creation of a sustainability trade show and speaker series. During these gatherings, the group collaborated in crafting a mission and vision statement, as well as an overview document, to generate momentum for a government/industry event centered around sustainable advancements and solutions.

Sustainable Development Goals Workshop | EnviroCollective board members and volunteers attended a morning workshop featuring Laura Schnurr, Director of Climate Transitions at the Tamarack Institute. Held on November 8th, the event focused on collectively defining community priorities related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Attendees drew inspiration from successful projects like data dashboards in Canadian communities. The workshop was made possible through collaborative efforts of Non-profit Voluntary Sector Studies Network with the SCIC (Sask Council on International Cooperation), which generously supported the event. | |

Prairie Clean Energy Revolutionizes with Innovative Ag Biomass Processing
(submission approved by PCE communications department)
| |
| |
In a ground-breaking move towards sustainable energy and bringing value from unutilized agriculture residue, Prairie Clean Energy (PCE) emerges as a key player in deeply decarbonizing Canada's energy landscape. PCE focuses on unlocking the immense value from un-utilized agricultural waste that usually is burned or thrown away on the Canadian and US prairies, most notably flax straw. Approximately 1.1 million tonnes of flax straw are burned on the Canadian and US prairies every year.
Already into production in 2023, PCE's proven approach, marked by a pending patent on its flax straw pellet process, aims to pelletize roughly 15,000 tonnes of flax straw in 2024 and 75,000 tonnes in 2025 in their Regina facility due to open in 2024.
