All Powered Up - Environment Conference Lights the Way
More than 60 delegates from churches across the north of England have been at Wakefield Cathedral learning about better ways to heat and light churches in a more sustainable and environmentally friendly way. Read more


How can Leeds do more to Tackle Climate Change?

Solar Helps Cut Cathedral Carbon
Bradford Cathedral's solar panels were installed 8 years ago and have saved 20 tonnes of carbon emissions. This year, the cathedral will be hosting an Eco Extravaganza on Saturday 19th October as part of its centenary celebrations. Read more


 Lights Up Christmas
A major lighting refurbishment, giving better lighting with a lower carbon footprint, at Christ Church Sowerby Bridge was completed just in time for the local school carol service. More
120,000 Plastic Cups a Year to be Saved

St Aidan's Church of England High School, Harrogate has this term stopped using plastic cups and asked students to bring water bottles. Read more
Faith Communities Plant Roots Together in Bradford
The Very Reverend Jerry Lepine, Dean of Bradford, braved the bad weather to join other members of the city's faith communities in establishing a new urban forest in Bradford as part of the Eco Church project. Click here

Faith Leaders meet MPs to mark 10th Anniversary
The Climate Coalition held a celebration of the Climate Change Act in Parliament, attended by many faith leaders, celebrating all that's been achieved and calling for a net zero target in legislation. More
Poorest Countries Ripped off by Climate Insurance
A new Jubilee Debt Campaign report suggests climate insurance is an inefficient use of resources and puts the costs back on the victims of climate change. More
Christians Arrested at Downing Street
Five members of Christian Climate Action were arrested in London in November during an Extinction Rebellion protest designed to make the government take more urgent action on climate change. "We feel called by God to protect creation" said Ruth Jarman. Read more
