Dear Friends,

Thank you for being a part of the DIG community. Through the WE-LAB workshops, we continue to teach residents about water and energy conservation and its impact on both resources and their utility costs. If you haven't attended a workshop in a while, see below or be on the lookout on our website for updates on our next workshops!

Please consider donating to DIG as we continue to provide programs for the community on local and global environmental challenges while promoting environmental education and stewardship throughout South Florida.

Sincerely,

How Do You Recycle?
Quick Survey
While WE-LAB is able to work with and impact our local water and energy nexus we are also looking into how we can assist our waste management.

Understanding our communities’ recycling habits is beneficial in this process and we encourage you to complete the attached survey so that we can better address the issues at hand.

Local Highlight
Miami & The Nature Conservancy
The Nature Conservancy and the City of Miami have partnered on a new project to Morningside Park's shoreline against the impacts of climate change.

“Our hope is that the Morningside Park Resilient Shoreline Project will both safeguard our waterfront and become a prototype for future green and green-grey infrastructure solutions in Miami. It is clearly a step in the right direction as we work – with the input of our community – to safeguard Miami’s future for our own children and for their children, too.” - said City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez.

Miami-Dade County
School Busses Going Electric
"A landmark decision by Miami-Dade County Public Schools to begin converting its noisy, pollutant-belching diesel buses into an electric fleet was driven by middle school student Holly Thorpe’s science fair project."

This is an amazing change as school busses were described as dirty, loud, and uncomfortable in the past.
