Digital Photography III students Lydia Fan, Iyanna Kennedy, and Lance Lincoln spent the first nine weeks working on a series of photographs that were a deep exploration of the topic of environmental portraits. They took photos of people (and pets) in settings that said something about the subject. For one set of portraits they emphasized color, for one they took self-portraits, and for one series they took portraits of people in very personal spaces.

Two of the photographers are working online from home, and everyone is much more limited in their choice of locations and models than they would be in any other year. I think the difficulties caused them to respond with greater creativity.

The photographers shared their thoughts about nine weeks photographing the same thing.
