Reduce plastics
Packaging change for 60 mm plates for water testing and for Contact Plates
We at Liofilchem are proud to communicate a fundamental step forward in our policies of environmental sustainability.

The plastic materials used for the packaging of several ready-to-use culture media of ours are going to be drastically reduced in the coming months.

The ready-to-use culture media in 60 mm diameter plates for water testing will gradually be packed in 4 sleeves of 5 plates each, that means 84% plastic reduction in comparison to the current individual blister packaging.

The ready-to-use culture media in contact plates for the microbiological testing of surfaces will gradually be packed in 2 sleeves of 10 plates each, which results into 90% plastic reduction in comparison to the current individual blister packaging.

The gamma-irradiates, triple packed contact plates will gradually be packed in 2 sleeves of 10 plates each, which means 67% plastic reduction if compared to the current individual blister packaging.

Furthermore, the volume of the 4 sleeves pack for the 60mm plates results 40% inferior to the blister pack, while the 2 sleeves pack for the contact plates results 33% inferior to its blister pack, thus allowing a significant rationalization of storage space and transportation volumes for a considerable reduction of CO₂ emissions.
