Greetings,

During our last Community Meeting, we were excited to share our new 5-year strategic plan, grounded in our mission to improve the health and well-being of pregnant women, children and families in Hillsborough County.

In this short video, discover how our new vision will shape the next phase of our work, driving innovation and collaboration. You’ll see this vision come to life in every story we share moving forward.

Thank you for being part of our journey to make this vision reality.

Last month, we had the pleasure of celebrating our incredible home visitors during National Home Visiting Week! From heartfelt lunches to fun team activities, we took time to honor the compassion, commitment, and impact these professionals bring to families every day.

Home visitors are the heart of our system of care, offering guidance, resources, and unwavering support from pregnancy through early childhood. Whether they're walking alongside a first-time mom, celebrating a child’s milestones, or connecting families to vital services, their work makes a lasting difference.

Thank you for showing up, uplifting others and helping families thrive.

New collaboration brings safe sleep education to the bedside

We’re excited to announce a new collaboration between the Healthy Start Coalition and TGH Muma Children’s Hospital’s In-Patient Pediatric Unit to provide bedside Safe Baby education to families of infants under 12 months.

Led by Child Fatality Prevention Specialist Paola Galarza, this initiative delivers one-on-one education sessions directly to caregivers at the hospital, focusing on the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Safe Sleep Guidelines.

Caregivers will also receive printed materials and a customized Safe Sleep plan to take home, along with information on local home visitation programs like Healthy Start, Healthy Families, Parents as Teachers, and Children’s Board/ASO services. Participation in these programs is completely voluntary and designed to support families beyond the hospital stay.

This partnership makes an impactful step in helping families create safer sleep environments and preventing infant sleep-related deaths across our community.
