May 2024 Newsletter

Mark Pletcher

Dear colleagues,

In March, we launched our strategic planning process, which will help chart the path of our department for the next five years. We invited everyone associated with DEB to participate: staff, students, and primary and secondary/affiliate faculty. Broad input is critical to the success of this process and will help us prioritize our work and resources.

We had a lively in-person brainstorming and planning session at our most recent DEB Day and another session with our faculty. Throughout the next few months, we will continue to Define, Discover, Dream, Design and Deliver using the Appreciative Inquiry method, which will culminate in a DEB Strategic Plan by the end of the calendar year. Thank you all for your engagement thus far. Please continue to use our Microsoft Teams channel DEB2025+ to share your ideas and engage with colleagues.

And enjoy reading about all the great stuff happening in DEB in this newsletter!
