Formation for All
Sundays at 11:30 a.m. through March 22 • parish hall
During Lent, Adult Formation will continue our exploration of what the Bible says about the church's nonviolent pursuit of Shalom, justice, and creating an equitable economy that facilitates the flourishing of all within our communities. The writing of John Dear, a Catholic priest and voice for peace and nonviolence, will accompany us on Jesus’ journey from Galilee to Jerusalem, where he “engages the culture of violence and empire and undergoes arrest and execution.” Through this lens, we will consider what it means for us to follow the nonviolent Jesus today. This course will be led by the Rev. Amy-Dills Wright, the Rev. Carmie McDonald, Paul Hinson, and Suzanne Yoder.

My Soul Longs for You: A Lenten Quiet Day
Sunday, March 22 • from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m.
| | | | |
This Quiet Day offers time to be still and let our deepest longings find their rest in God. Longing is a welcoming word. It softens our attempts to control distress, ignore conflicts, and avoid emotional upset. Longing in the presence of God allows us to relax our urgency to fix or shun, to increase our clarity. We can learn to be with/yield to what is part of our lives. And in that “being with,” we can follow Jesus’ invitation to “come and see” (John 1:39), to know ourselves more fully. We can embrace God’s longing for us as we are.
Led by The Rev. Dr. Bobbi Patterson.

Holy Week Contemplative Anointing Service
Monday, March 30 at 6:00 p.m.
| | | | |
3/30—Right before Jesus’ final entrance into Jerusalem, he stops in Bethany where Mary the Magdalene anoints him with costly perfume. In honor of this act of love, we offer a service during Holy Week where we remember that anointing, and Mary’s presence accompanying Jesus at his crucifixion, at the tomb, and at the resurrection.
The liturgy, written by the Rev. Cynthia Bourgeault, includes readings, contemplative chant, silence, and anointing one another. As we remember Christ’s anointing and experience our own, we are drawn more deeply toward the heart of divine love and place Mary the Magdalene back in her rightful place as a central figure in Holy Week as one of Jesus’ apostles.
If you would like to participate in this service by doing a reading, please click the button to sign up.

This day we walk the Stations of the Cross as a mini-pilgrimage in prayer and contemplation.
The stations at Epiphany were created by former parishioner and talented artist Jim Stevens. We hope that these carvings and prayers will help you to approach the way of the cross with a special reverence.
