Formation for All

Sundays at 11:30 a.m. through March 22 • parish hall

During Lent, Adult Formation will continue our exploration of what the Bible says about the church's nonviolent pursuit of Shalom, justice, and creating an equitable economy that facilitates the flourishing of all within our communities. The writing of John Dear, a Catholic priest and voice for peace and nonviolence, will accompany us on Jesus’ journey from Galilee to Jerusalem, where he “engages the culture of violence and empire and undergoes arrest and execution.” Through this lens, we will consider what it means for us to follow the nonviolent Jesus today. This course will be led by the Rev. Amy-Dills Wright, the Rev. Carmie McDonald, Paul Hinson, and Suzanne Yoder.

Art Ministry

Now Showing for the Month of March

For March, Epiphany’s Art Ministry welcomes beautiful items from Ghana made by the Dignity Sewing Centre. The Dignity Sewing Centre is a partnership of the Diocese of Atlanta and the Anglican Diocese of Cape Coast. This partnership and burgeoning justice enterprise not only provides a sense of purpose and dignity of work for young people in Cape Coast, but it allows for an exchange of culture and history between these two Dioceses. The clothes and bags are made from authentic Ghanaian kente cloth and fabric, are infused with power, faith, and beauty, joy, and dignity.

For this show, 100% of all sales benefits Dignity Sewing Center. Sign up on the price sheet and pay by QR code on the art table.

My Soul Longs for You: A Lenten Quiet Day

Sunday, March 22 • from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m.

This Quiet Day offers time to be still and let our deepest longings find their rest in God. Longing is a welcoming word. It softens our attempts to control distress, ignore conflicts, and avoid emotional upset. Longing in the presence of God allows us to relax our urgency to fix or shun, to increase our clarity. We can learn to be with/yield to what is part of our lives. And in that “being with,” we can follow Jesus’ invitation to “come and see” (John 1:39), to know ourselves more fully. We can embrace God’s longing for us as we are. Led by The Rev. Dr. Bobbi Patterson.

Chez Epiphany Youth Group

Sunday, March 22 • 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

3/22—Youth and their families are invited to a cooking class led by Joel Fowler. Afterwards, we will eat our delicious creations! The cost of this event is $15. Deadline to register is Tuesday, March 17.

Parish Workday

Saturday, March 28 • from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

3/28—Please save the date for a work day that we will have on Saturday, March 28. We hope you will be able to join your fellow parishioners as we spruce up our lovely grounds and interior spaces before Holy Week. All ages and all skill levels are welcome!

We will provide snacks and beverages, but you will want to bring your reusable water bottle so we can avoid single-use plastics. If you have them, bring your work gloves, pruning shears, loppers, spades, clippers, and garden shovels.

Palm Sunday Passion Gospel

Sunday, March 29

"before the cock crows, you will deny me three times." Mosaic from the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare Nuovo, 6th century.

The Service Begins Outside: Weather permitting, we will gather in the meadow and process to the nave with our palms.

Take a part in the Passion Gospel: The narrative account of Jesus’ last days is read at the service. Parishioners are invited to sign up for a role in the Passion Gospel. During the liturgy, you’ll speak your lines from your place in the pew (no acting required!).
