Formation for All
Sundays at 11:30 a.m. through March 22 • parish hall
During Lent, Adult Formation will continue our exploration of what the Bible says about the church's nonviolent pursuit of Shalom, justice, and creating an equitable economy that facilitates the flourishing of all within our communities. The writing of John Dear, a Catholic priest and voice for peace and nonviolence, will accompany us on Jesus’ journey from Galilee to Jerusalem, where he “engages the culture of violence and empire and undergoes arrest and execution.” Through this lens, we will consider what it means for us to follow the nonviolent Jesus today. This course will be led by the Rev. Amy-Dills Wright, the Rev. Carmie McDonald, Paul Hinson, and Suzanne Yoder.

United Thank Offering (UTO)
Make a practice of thank offerings during Lent
| | |
In 1889, two Episcopal women envisioned a way to collect small thank offerings in homes as a personal expression of gratitude. Today, UTO contributions from Episcopalians around the world support more than 5,300 Episcopal missions and ministries.
Many if not most of us have a reason to be thankful every day. We may put something in the UTO box as a positive way to express that gratitude and give that to the United Thank Offering. UTO boxes/envelopes are in the Gallery. Make checks out to The Episcopal Church Women, noting UTO in the memo. Ingathering will be Sunday, April 12, but checks can be made out to the ECW anytime between now and April 12.

- Last year, 27 grants were given for projects focusing on water access, sanitation, and education. Dioceses of Western Louisiana, California Central Valley, South Dakota, Colorado and the Southwestern diocese of Brazil received these grants.
- Closer to home, in 2015 the Diocese of Atlanta received a grant for early childhood training at Rainbow Village dedicated to helping those in homeless situations

My Soul Longs for You: A Lenten Quiet Day
Sunday, March 22 • from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m.
| | | | This Quiet Day offers time to be still and let our deepest longings find their rest in God. Longing is a welcoming word. It softens our attempts to control distress, ignore conflicts, and avoid emotional upset. Longing in the presence of God allows us to relax our urgency to fix or shun, to increase our clarity. We can learn to be with/yield to what is part of our lives. And in that “being with,” we can follow Jesus’ invitation to “come and see” (John 1:39), to know ourselves more fully. We can embrace God’s longing for us as we are. Led by Bobbi Patterson and Amy Dills-Wright. | | |
Parish Workday

| | |
We will provide snacks and beverages, but you will want to bring your reusable water bottle so we can avoid single-use plastics. If you have them, bring your work gloves, pruning shears, loppers, spades, clippers, and garden shovels.
