Dear Redeemer Family,
WHETHER IN PERSON, through the mail, on the phone, or virtually, it has been a joy getting to know you all over the past few weeks. I have felt incredibly welcomed by this community and feel fortunate for these meaningful moments of connection. In an attempt to get to know the parish even better (and without masks), I welcome individuals and families to send me a photo of themselves with their names. This will help me get to know you all so that when we regather, I can put names to faces. Please send photos to grace@redeemermidlothian.org.
With love and prayers,

Morning Prayer Tuesdays - Fridays
|
|
IN AN EFFORT to provide an additional way for members of the church to connect, Redeemer offers Morning Prayer on Zoom each morning from Tuesday through Friday at 8:30 a.m. Grace creates a bulletin for the service and shares it with participants through ‘screen share.’ This way, everyone has the same material and it is easy to follow along. After the twenty-minute service, there is a short ‘coffee hour’ where folks are able to talk with one another. Grace says, "It has been a delight seeing faces on the screen as we pray and check in." The 6-9 enthusiastic participants will welcome newcomers. Joining in is easy!

Wiggle Worship / Blessing of the Animals on Oct. 4
|
|
BECAUSE INDOOR WORSHIP may be a little too structured for some of our youngest parishioners, we are holding a Wiggle Worship service the first and third Sundays of the month from 5:00 to 5:45 pm. Robert, Grace, and Helen will lead an informal, family friendly worship service outside in the courtyard for all ages, not just our littlest church members. Our next Wiggle Worship service is Sunday, Oct. 4, at 5:00 pm.
Since October 4 is the date when we celebrate the feast of St. Francis as a congregation,
we encourage you to bring your pets for a pet blessing. Note: Pets will be blessed twice on this date: at 10 am and also at the 5 pm Wiggle Worship.
Although the sermon will be child-focused, there will still be some adult lessons to learn, so come join us for an evening of worship in a safe, socially distanced manner. Bring your own chairs or blankets for your family to sit on and water to drink. Restrooms will be available. Families will need to stay as a family unit and will be spaced six feet apart from other family units. Masks are required of adults and children ages 5 and up.
Please sign up ahead of time by clicking on the action button below. Reach out to Helen with any questions.

Online Fellowship on Sept. 27
|

JOIN REDEEMER FOR an agape meal on September 27 at 6:00 pm through Zoom! Agape meals are also known as love feasts in which Christians share a meal of bread and a beverage during a service. Redeemer’s agape meal provides a great opportunity for members to virtually gather together and pray. Participants are invited to join from the comfort of their homes with their own bread and beverages. The liturgy for the service can be found here. We hope you will join Redeemer on Zoom and share in the feast.
Or Telephone:203-432-9666 (2-ZOOM if on-campus) or 646 568 7788
Meeting ID: 983 8116 2235
Also – If you feel inspired, you can bake your own bread! The Rev. Grace Rigby and her husband, Jon, offer this recipe from NY Times Cooking that they use when making bread.

Redeemer appreciates your generosity
|
|
WE ARE SO grateful to those who have continued their gifts as if we were meeting in person, rather than virtually. Continue, as you are able, to fulfill your 2020 Transforming Generosity commitments. Some of you may decide to give more earlier knowing that others may have to adjust their pledges to changing circumstances.
