Immigration

All Episcopalians are invited to create origami cranes (tsuru) and mail them to the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia (1551 10th Ave. E, Seattle, WA 98102) to arrive by April 10. The cranes will be strung together and displayed outside the DHS detention center in Tacoma, Washington. Instructions for making an origami crane can be found HERE and HERE.

The project is part of the Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander leaders retreat this April in Tacoma, Washington. The retreat, based in the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia in cooperation with the church’s Asiamerica Ministries, offers a sacred space for clergy and lay leaders of Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander heritage to explore AANHPI history, worship together, and translate collective stories into advocacy for migrant communities.

News From Around Province V

Province V & VI Women Clergy Retreat

Date: May 31-June 3, 2026

Where: St. Francis Retreat Center (DeWitt, Mich.)

Cost: $360 - actual cost of the gathering; $260 - subsidized cost of the gathering

A retreat centered on the experiences of women clergy. We explicitly invite everyone (trans, cis, nonbinary, gender fluid, agender, and more) who feels this is for them to attend. Women clergy from places across Provinces V and VI are coming together in retreat with the theme of “Connections”.

This will not be a typical conference with a tight schedule and carefully controlled program. We have designed this retreat in an Open Space Technology format with a very basic schedule. There will be dedicated time for worship, large group check-ins and meals.  Two facilitators will guide this process for us and there are a few guidelines that will also help guide the process. We hope you will come willing to explore and share.

The registration cost includes overnight accommodations, meals at the retreat center, and retreat materials. To make this gathering as affordable as possible for all, we are offering two pricing tiers for registration. Please choose the rate you are able to pay. If you have the funds to pay the real cost, that helps offset our scholarship and subsidized rates. Additionally, you may donate to the scholarship fund if you are able.

Please don't let registration or travel cost keep you from attending! If you need financial assistance, contact your local parish or your diocese. If they are unable to help, contact Heather or Ellen.

Big Provincial Gathering

Date: July 31-August 1, 2026

Planning is underway. Basic information is already available about leading workshops, participating in pre-event trainings, sponsorship, and exhibitors. More detailed information will become available as planning for the BPG progresses further. If you're interested in any of this, please contact Heather Barta and check upcoming newsletters and this website.
