Christine White has been involved in more than 50 shows at St. Petersburg City Theatre (SPCT). Most recently, she directed last year's Jesus Christ Super Star. However, Christine who has the lead role of Miss Daisy, has not been on stage in 12 years.
As a director, Christine tells us "I especially like to direct Neil Simon plays, where you're laughing one minute and crying the next". Her favorites include "Lost in Yonkers", "Proposals", and Brighton Beach Memoirs", for which she won a Lary(Star) award for favorite director of a comedy. Christine has also choreographed many shows such as "7Brides for 7Brothers, "Sugar" and "Meet Me in St Louis" which won her a Lary(Star) award for Favorite Choreographer.
Her husband, Gary, who we showcased earlier this week, lights many, if not all of the shows she is involved in. "He is my never ending source of support." Christine and Gary have been married for 47 years and have two fabulous sons, Chad and Rob. They also have two grandsons that Christine is very proud to say, serve their New Hampshire community as a policeman and a fireman. Beyond Christine's commitment to the theatre and her family, she has also been a hair stylist for 37 years. And in her downtime, she finds comfort from her two fur babies, Ivy and JJ.
Come out this weekend and enjoy Christine in the role of Miss Daisy!
