That's right-- Equine Advocates turns 23 and it's a cause for celebration!! The fun doesn’t stop there! It’s ALSO the 12th birthday of our gorgeous Th oroughbred Mare, Rose! Won't you consider donating $23, $230, $2,300 or any amount of your choice to our organization to help mark the many years of top q uality care our rescues have received?! No contribution is too small! 🐴

πŸ™ The funds raised will be used exclusively toward the rescue, care and maintenance of the horses, ponies, donkeys and mules who reside at Equine Advocates Rescue & Sanctuary. Please help us reach our goal over the next 23 days! Maybe you'll consider hosting a Facebook Fundraiser of your very own to share with your friends?!

Equine Advocates was founded in 1996 by Susan Wagner when she rescued her first horse, Gandalf, from slaughter two years earlier. Since that time, we have rescued and helped thousands of equines, including horses, ponies, donkeys and mules from slaughter, abuse and neglect. We have grown significantly over the years with our small but energetic and compassionate staff. We have done a great deal, but there is still much to be accomplished.

In 2004 we relocated to our new base of operations when we established Equine Advocates Rescue & Sanctuary, a 140-acre haven and refuge for horses in upstate New York. The opening of this wonderful sanctuary was bittersweet, as Gandalf passed away one year earlier at th e age of 30. While he did not make it to the sanctuary, he is here with us every day in spirit and continues to inspire all of us, along with the other wonderful equines we have gotten to know over the years, leading up to this momentous milestone of 23 years! Please help us celebrate our 23 years of rescue, advocacy and equine protection work by making a contribution today!
