Over the 26 years she has been at Duke, Jeanine Holland has been driven by a desire to serve others and make a lasting difference on local communities. In this month’s Spotlight, Holland discusses her passion for service, which was instilled in her as a child and remains part of who she is. She continues to serve even today in her role as administrative coordinator in the School of Medicine’s Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. | |

Request for Proposals: EDI Catalyst Fund
The Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion recently launched the EDI Catalyst Fund, which will provide resources for implementing innovative projects, interventions, and programs in EDI. Staff and faculty in the Duke University School of Medicine are invited to submit requests for proposal for the award. Selected catalyst proposals will be awarded up to $25,000. Proposals are due March 8.

Call for Nominations: Michelle Winn Inclusive Excellence Award
Any member of the School of Medicine may submit a nomination for the Michelle Winn Inclusive Excellence Award, which recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Nominations must be received by February 19.

New Summer Program SURE to Inspire
The Precision Genomics Collaboratory will offer a new 10-week summer program starting in May. The Duke Supporting Undergraduate Research Experiences (SURE) Program is designed for underrepresented undergraduate students entering their sophomore, junior, or senior years who are interested in exploring careers in STEM and medicine. Application deadline: February 15.
