Special Long Beach City Council Meeting
Tomorrow, the City Council will hold a special meeting to discuss enacting a payment assistance Program in response to the recent spike in natural gas prices. Community members interested in attending can participate in-person or virtually, as this will be a hybrid meeting. Please see the details below.

Equity and Human Relations Commission Meeting
Join the next EHRC meeting tomorrow, February 1 at 6 pm.

The Mission of the Equity and Human Relations Commission is “to inspire and support social justice and equity in the City of Long Beach and foster mutual understanding and respect for all.”

This month, the Commission will discuss the City’s recent emergency proclamation on homelessness. Additionally, the Commission will continue discussing the 2023 Roadmap, identifying policy priorities, potential sub-committees, and opportunities for community engagement.

Black History Celebration and Marketplace
On Friday, a two-day Black History & African Marketplace Celebration will commence at the EXPO Arts Center, located at 4321 Atlantic Avenue. Organized by Elite Skills Development, Forgotten Images, Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association, African American Cultural Center, The SIX and Infinity Enrichment, the Celebration consists of 5 exhibits and special performances.  
 
The Celebration is free and open to the public.
