Philanthropy & Advocacy

Since 1996, The Fund for Women and Girls has been working to ensure equity of resources and opportunities. We do this by:

offering grant funding to direct service organizations,
providing education and civic engagement programs, and
facilitating advocacy initiatives that tackle the sources of inequities.

#1 The federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) protects unpaid leave. The Family Care Act would offer PAID time off in Pennsylvania.

#2 It's not just for maternity/bonding leave. It could also cover:

Serious medical condition of self or family member
Qualifying act of violence including safe leave
PTSD for veterans or time off prior to active duty leave
