Now trading: Eris Options.
Efficient, non-linear hedging arrives.

CME Group Eris Options have active order books with market makers now streaming two-sided prices. June trading totaled 1,222 contracts, with initial activity focused in the 2-year July expiry, as well as 2-year October and 10-year September.

The Eris Options launch follows the largest roll in Eris SOFR Swap futures history, with more than 1 million Eris SOFR contracts trading in June.

Exploring Eris Options? Here are five things you should know.

1. Eris Options on Bloomberg

The best way to view Eris Options is through Bloomberg Options Monitor.

2. Mind the Greeks

Users can find Delta, Gamma, and Vega in the Volume & Open Interest page. To view them, click the Options tab, choose an expiry (e.g., 2Y Aug 2026 – YITQ6), select a strike price (e.g., 98.125), and the Greeks will display.

3. Compare with Swaptions

On the same VOI page, users can view volatilities and the equivalent swaption strike rate for each strike price, enabling straightforward comparison with OTC swaptions. We even translate between lognormal price volatility and normal rate volatility (also known as “BP Vol”).

4. Liquidity from leading options market makers

Market makers are actively streaming two-sided prices and are available for block trades. Click here for the list of block market makers.

5. Preserve capital with futures-style margining

Similar to forward-premium swaptions, Eris Options futures-style margining reduces the initial outlay required by option buyers, allowing them to preserve capital and retain flexibility in managing their interest rate risk. Click here to learn more about FSM.
